Systems Analysis answers the question "What needs to be included in the system?"
Major Activities
Analysis consists of review of existing documents, interviews with key personnel, and examination of existing system. From the Analysis, a list of requirements is developed which define the expectations for the completed system. Requirements are grouped into categories such as security, performance (response time, number of users), technical (computer hardware and operating systems) and reporting (on screen and printed).
Major Milestones
The major milestones of the Analysis phase are
- Start;
- Delivery of Draft Analysis Document; and
- Acceptance of Analysis Document
Deliverables
The deliverable of the Analysis Phase is the Analysis Document. (The outline of the Analysis Document is available from Pointe.)
